Back in the late 50’s J.K. Adams decided to re-create a historic board that was popular when Ethan Allen and his Green Mountain Boys protected our New England hills. This board was made of black walnut, just as it was in colonial times. It was to accurately reproduce an heirloom with the weight, feel and balance of the originals. Over the years, this trencher board has gathered an incredibly loyal following, serving great purposes for the kitchen decor.

Ulu Board: The Ulu is an Alaskan cousin to the Italian Mezzaluna, half-moon chopper. The single blade is smaller but has the same efficient curved edge to quickly mince herbs with the roll of the wrist. The hardwood herb bowl, which is shaped to match the blade curve, can be flipped over and used as a handy bar board. J.K. Adams stand behind the products they make. If a product does not live up to expectations in material, workmanship, or function for five years, they will replace it.
