A crumb board, or bread board, is ideal for cutting breads or any food that crumbs easily. One of the interesting features of a crumb board is the crumb catcher. The crumb catcher is usually constructed beneath the cutting board and slits or holes in the cutting surface allow crumbs to fall into it. After use crumbs can be easily emptied from the crumb catcher into the trash. Crumb boards also tend to incorporate more intricate designs due to its extra features and the decreased knife marks, associated with the lighter nature of cutting breads.
